Mercy To Give

I sit cross legged, heart unbound

Postured for prayer

For my world

Full of death

Full of pain

Full of spirits weighed down by yokes of oppression

Of hate

Of greed

Weeping

Lamenting

Crying out “God, in your mercy”

When the Spirit draws near and whispers

“What if the mercy you seek is not mine to give”
