Subway Sanctuary

1398471_53815159[1]

Dim lights
Seats taken by unfamiliar faces
Eyes closed
Praying
Thinking
Finding rest as the car rocks on the tracks taking us to different places
This space my sanctuary
I seek and find you here
We speak for hours
Tears shed, revelation gained
On dirty plastic benches
Running betwixt tail ends of this city
It’s here that I breathe you in
and rest in your presence
